This
casual garden in the flatlands of Kentfield needed to serve many uses. The
house needed guest parking and a safer entry walk. The back yard needed to
accommodate a growing family and Golden Retriever. The result is a gracious
transformation that works on many levels. The new guest parking, entry gate
and garden provide an entry procession for the front of the house. A finely
detailed entry walk and water feature take advantage of the sightlines and
setting. The walkway stairs and new front door transforms the previously understated
entry. The back yard creates a large lawn area, outdoor kitchen, a sweeping
stone bench terrace wall and a courtyard that doubles as a playcourt. A play
structure
is tucked beneath redwoods. Privacy fencing and trellises provide the property
with privacy and a generous outdoor storage yard. |
