This heavily urban renovation project, located on the roof of a grocery store created some design challenges.
All of the plantings were essentially in planting areas over a membrane and had failed save for a few shrubs.
Pedersen Associates worked with arborists and soil scientists to develop a program of soil replacement/modification and on-going nutrient introduction by way of a fertilizer injection system.
The results are a sustainable renovation in a difficult setting.
