The primary goal of this project was to draw people away from the main residence and into the sweeping vistas of Marin. With that objective in mind,
Pedersen Associates designed a large, curved retaining wall that allowed the client to capture real estate that had been inaccessible due to the property’s steep slope.
The result is an intimate and private gathering area with sweeping views as a backdrop.
Adjacent to the house in an underutilized side yard, PA designed a bar and grill to enhance the alfresco experience.
Above the harvest table gathering area, stands a new cantilevered umbrella wired for both light and heat.
The client was also hoping to find a spot for the hot tub that minimized its presence in the landscape.
Pedersen Associates tucked it neatly in a corner and created a flagstone path lined with moss for access.
